Polishct.com derived from the need I had to formulate a Polish community in my new habitat of Connecticut. I moved to CT to begin my dream job as a web developer at Basement Systems. After spending my first 4 years in the States in Brooklyn, I craved the culture I was so accustomed to. The concept of the website is to serve useful information about Polish immigrants in Connecticut while focusing on local businesses and classifieds. The website offers free posting of classifieds and submission to the business directory.

The purpose of the business directory is to publish and promote legitimate, privately owned businesses . In the future I plan to add a feature that will make it possible for visitors to write reviews for company profiles.

In the classified section, a visitor is allowed to post ads including photos if necessary. Published ads will become public immediately and visitors will be able to contact the author by filling out a simple form. Main classified categories are jobs, apartments for rent, services offered etc. I'm already thinking about adding new features to the site like a public discussion board, news and events in Connecticut, and a culinary section where people can share their Polish recipes. I hope that the website will become a meeting place for Poles and Americans interested in Polish traditions.
